Yeah I knew who it referred to, just didn't know what caused him to leave. Think I knew him on another forum a few years back.

Would have enjoyed it a little more if left hand swing revealed a ham and right hand a turkey.
    Still pretty cool

Well, i finally got around to fixing the stove door glass...right after putting a fill valve in a toilet at the church.
The borough shut the water off due to high usage the last 2 days. I just replaced another toilet there on Tuesday...:hair:

2 winters ago they came to check on high usage. Turned out we had a pipe froze and broke over a ceiling. What a mess. Took me over a week to get it fixed. Replaced insulation, drywall ceilings in two rooms, 3 broken light fixtures, paint, carpet, drop ceiling tiles...ugh

A gentleman from FL bought one of our communities old school buildings some years back. I used to do maint on it so became friends with him as he needed lots of help and advice as he began some work on it. He’s had many bad leaks, but the worst was when he was in Florida on vacation, and our city water office called him saying the meter was moving pretty good and figured he should check it out... I found a 2” line completely froze and gushing into what was a nice gymnasium. Floor jumped up like there was a whale under the wood. Water ain’t fun. At my current job, we had a bad leak on a 3/4” pipe back in 2011 and flooded about 30K sq ft of educational space. Like I said, water ain’t fun

Gotta gotta go look for pics, here’s some

Our old AD asking what the freak we gonna do? I said, we’re gonna start sucking water up at this end and when we get to the other end, we’ll be dry. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Was quite the deal. Worked my tail off with the restoration company for a couple/few 100hr weeks. Also got me a 8% raise that year and with some extra cash, was able to take my little fam to Disney.
Best part of the whole deal was much like this community on FWH, our two little communities that make up Cross County Schools came out to help in full force. My day began at 5:00 when my morning custodian called, after texting several times, saying I should probably come out as there’s like some water in the halls. drove right out, took one look down a 200’ hall and immediately shut the main and booster pumps down. She was cleaning a restroom like any other day, and didn’t seem too alarmed by all this. I called my boss, our Supt of schools and let him know then as news. He came out and wash in complete disbelief, and questioned what we’d do. He used out alert now system to call student family’s to say no school, and then I asked him to use it again asking for help. That was about 6:00am and by 6:30 we had close to 100 people with shop vacs, squeegees, pumps, etc. we were dry by 9:00am. Love small towns.

A few years ago we were on a school job and the general contractor left some pockets open in a new block wall connected to an entrance to a basketball court and auditorium. There were big bathrooms on each side. Long story short, 3 of us spent a week fixing 56 broken pipes.
The kids had be bused back home. Contractor payed dearly. I think our bill was 7k. I have no idea what they payed the bus company.
