Daughter and I volunteered for a clean up project at our local State Park. We had a very bad forest fire in our area. Many thousand acres burnt. We hiked way too many miles carrying saw and support gear. Park rangers did allow us to take our truck several miles up the mountain. Saw ran good, met several nice people and had a awesome time with my daughter. We even had a wood fired pizza afterwards for all of our hard work.

Looks like old black, assume that was one of the fires from back in the fall? Did your area have any last week during that big wind?

Not much hinge wood in those hollow burned trees.

Fires were from last week. They are still battling flare ups. Rained a little last night, hope that helps.

We could still feel the heat off of the ground in some areas

It seems crazy to me that the state would let volunteers do that type of thing, just due to liabilities. I remember the last big fire in MI and they kept everyone away. Had the commercial loggers in there in no time to salvage what they could.

But good on you and your daughter for helping out!!!

We had to sign a waiver that they were not responsible for our safety.
