No, but good guess! It was a glass cleaning crew on some very pricey condos in Charleston,SC that claimed that the doors and windows supplied came with “all” of the glass scratched. Caught the cleaning crew in progress and mystery solved:thumbs:

Yeah this is the stuff right here. It has some sort of silica formulation that builds up over time on the glass.

I do the wet paper towel dipped in ash for weekly touchups and then when I do a deep clean I use the paste. Letting it soak in for a few minutes goes a long way also.

Wet paper and ash here. And only a couple times a season because the stove usually doesn’t get cold

I don't think I've cleaned mine with anything other than a hot fire since last season. Ideal steel doesn't seem to leave much on the glass running at 1/4 throttle.

Like everyone else says though. Newspaper, ash, and a bit of water work great.

I use the wife’s foaming glass cleaner that she uses to clean the countertops and mirrors and windows. I spray a good coat on. Let it foam up and let it sit for about 30 seconds. Wipe it off with a paper towel. Repeat with a light spray if needed to remove the streaks. Effortless…I sometimes don’t wipe it down for a couple months and this stuff takes it right off with no scrubbing.
