I got out in 1990. I seem to recall them saying Vgli won’t increase and I think it was around $55 a year. I’m now paying $385 a year. Am I remembering incorrectly?

50,000 was all they offered back then, as far as I know. The thing is I’m pretty sure when I separated they told us that the premiums wouldn’t increase. That’s the government for ya though. Just like that letter I occasionally get from social security that shows me how much I’ll get per month when I retire. Then at the bottom is a disclaimer saying funds may not be available.

Nope…. It’s not that same $20 a month we paid while on duty.

mine was going to be like $395 per month back in 2009. So I told them to place it in the local light absent orifice. Stupid the games they play.

apparently, I wasn’t getting actual VA rates then.
