Going to call them in a little while and see what they say. Im starting to think she hurt her neck as she seems to be favoring that but there is no swelling that I can tell. She has been doing all of her bathroom things just fine. No new food or treats or eating grass. My wife did give her a joint supplement the other day as she gets a little stiff in the winter time. Thanks for the links Jon1270 Im going to keep an eye on her and see if she will eat in a little while if not it might be time to go somewhere$
Headed to the emergency room she has a fever and is not showing any signs of improvement. Thank you for all the well wishes.
Meanwhile, catch some urine (frying pan) and put in a baggie for when you do see the vet. I have some tests strips here but that doesn't help you out there. Sometimes you will see some blood in the snow too if UTI. Also check for dehydration thank god shes drinking! Lift some skin up between her shoulder blades, it should fall quickly. Press your finger on her gums, the white impression should turn red again in a second or two.
If it got into something it should get out of its belly we have used hydrogen peroxide to bring things back up.
Ok were back and she is high as a kite. The diagnosis is that its most likely a muscle injury in her neck so they gave her an injection for pain and some scripts for muscle relaxer, pain reliever, and an NSAID. My wife is going to take her on Monday to see her regular vet and get the urine work done check for a UTI or something. The vet we saw today said that she most likely doesnt have an infection because her fever went down shortly after getting the pain reliever injection but recommended that we follow up on Monday with our vet. For now she is laying on her bed sleeping still no appetite but we were told not to expect her to eat tonight, if she doesnt get up and drink something though I think Im going to spray some water down her throat since she hasnt drank much today.
Were not out of the woods just yet but she is looking more relaxed than she was the test will be to see how she is in the morning. Oh and wildwest the doc said to use a heating pad on her so well try that too.
Glad to hear you have a diagnosis to work from. With rest tonight, the meds should have a chance to do their thing. Hoping shes a lot better in the a.m. Good luck.
I know how u feel when I went to Texas to get my old English bull dog we got her home and had to spend 600$ on stuff to get rid of the mites that she brought with Her . It killed me when she lost her fur on her chest an was all bloody. But it was worth it in the end your pets are family.
Im glad to here there is an idea of what is wrong. Its so much harder to know what is wrong with our pets though since they can't talk. Hopefully you'll see improvement soon. Did she do anything abnormaly active lately? Is she an older dog? Your a good owner!
She is 7 Years old. We are now starting to think that there is indeed something wrong with her lady parts. She has been licking down there a lot lately and about an hour ago I noticed some moisture and possible discharge I don't know if it's that or she peed herself a little but I'm guessing that she hurt her neck from twisting to lick down there so much. She is still acting in pain but not as much as earlier she drank some more water and started moving around a little and even wagged her tail something she hasn't done in 24 hours. She will go to the vet on Monday and hopefully get the rest of her fixed up. I'm hoping and praying that she will be back to normal by the end of the week. Thank you all for your kind thoughts and advice It's been very helpful and comforting to know that y'all are here I really do appreciate everything that y'all do to help.
