venting

i gotta drive almost 1.25 hr to go get this offset thing wtf so about 3hr outta my day tomorrow,oh well i can stop at a wholesale club on the way home.

 

what should i seal this with? dont really wanna use hi temp rtv cause its my slip joint itll make it to hard to get off for cleaning.

This only sticks to itself, it's silicone tape. I've used it for a while now, it works great on things you want to take apart. You stretch it tight onto itself and seals great.

 

I use metal tape. I can paint it, and I can cut it to take it off. I like the silicon item better. Went to Amazon and ordered the clear and the black. I didn't know it was so heat tolerant, but when you consider my wife has silicon cookware, it must be very resistant to heat.

 

Same here. I have seen this stuff sold under the name "Rescue Tape" in the past and always wanted to try some. Did not know it could safely be used on flue pipe. Thanks Steve!

 

yea, that stuff is available in most hardware stores.........neat stuff

 

Also available at HD. Love the silicon tape - easy on, easy off, no messing up paint (black pipe), and no residue. AND can be used for other things too.

 

Really the only bad thing about this is if you accidentally touch it to itself when handling it, you won't get it apart and you'll need another piece....this may have happened to me

 

Guess that answers my question: is the tape re-usable?
