    Ah, I see. I thought maybe you lived around here close.
    Yeah, he spends a good bit of time on the firetrucks and squads. He had the aerial truck in yesterday, had to replace the waterway (?) pipe I think it was. I really find it amazing that two guys can keep up with all the trucks and equipment that we have.
    They really spend a lot of time when new trucks/equipment are purchased, to put things together in a way so to make it user friendly and give maximum service life. The oil spray is just one small example of that.

    Just finished a little car for a neighbor down the road and now gonna double spray Mrs loons Sonata.:yes:

    Used motor oil (contains minute metal particles that help grip the surface) mixed with 1/3 diesel fuel which allows it to continually creep into crevices. Works well but anything oil based will also play havac with rubber weatherstripping. Also be careful spraying around any sensors especially ABS sensors. They don't like it....................................
