Larry, I'd love it if you started a new thread on your downstairs! I don't need pics, just want to hear about how it happens PS, I have a girlfriend with a heart transplant, and a year before that she had an LVAD, but suffered sinus and respiratory problems both before and after both transplants. Fast forward a few years she is doing well, and spending time away from the icky carpet in her home.... She is breathing better now.
I've got a Dyson as well. It's really nice when it's clogged, Dyson has done a great job thinking things out so it's easy to get to every part of the vacuum and to the filters. The bad part is when a belt breaks, you have to take half the thing apart to fix it. I've replaced the belt twice in mine in 3 years. 2 girls with long hair, and then a Golden Retriever who's full time job is to shed, so the vacuum gets a LOT of use!
Just had to tear apart our Shark this weekend. First time since we bought it 6 months ago. The SIL had used it to vacuum up baking soda (which we use as carpet cleaner) except it was still damp from her "methods". The insides of pretty much everything was caked with the stuff but the carpet, in that spot, is cleaner than everywhere else! Anyway, it's a decent vac but the storage container is pretty small. If we do the rug in the living room once a week we can get by on one dumping. If it goes longer than that it'll take 2 dumping for sure. 3 dogs (lab/rott crosses) and 2 cats upstairs so that'll happen.
My old room mate had a dog and he would always use carpet fresh when he vacuumed. I am still finding carpet fresh every time I clean the vacuum.
Steam is what typically sets off my asthma. The cat is doing good, been using wipes and water-less shampoo on him.
My wife fills up the Dyson twice each week, although she does go over everything twice whenever she vacuums. She likes to make a point to show me every time how much "my" dog (Golden Retriever) sheds and points out that "her" 2 cats don't shed that much!
Code ID10=T Ran the canister vac that has been in storage for a long time. I could not remember how to turn the rotor off for bare floors . I vacuumed up the spilled coffee (after lil one finger painted in it LOLOL). Several passes on different heights so it would pick up the grounds up instead of scattering them.................. Sat down to google panasonic manuals, got lost in panasonic international, when back and found the bare floor switch
