Yup, plenty of that white stuff around here.

Nope, don't think I'm interested in trying that, though!

Maybe a golf cart could suit your needs.

I bought the ranger 1000xp. It's a sweet machine. To me it's simple, Polaris sets the bar for semi utility SxS. Other manufacturers compare their new machines to the ranger.
I don't have any experience in the utility(Kubota) or sport(Rzr) SxS.

I saw a 1989 jeep for $2500 on a car lot today. Probably would outlast all the atv's...

I am pretty sure that Subaru stopped building small engines. Great if they didn't, but not great if they really did.Subaru Ends Small Engine Production | Shank's Lawn Blog

Anyone have any experience/input on the Polaris Ranger 800? Specifically 13-14 model year?

I've heard of a few electrical issues, mostly harness chafing that can be fixed at home easily, and the engine gets warm, and you sit right on the engine. Other than that I've heard only good things. A cousin has one, and it's been solid.

Some guy from the L.P. (hunting camp member) has one (or two) in his family and mentioned to stay away from them due to engine troubles.

Thats all I know, repeated to you as told to me.

I've been reading some consumer reports for Polaris warranty claims and I see a lot of the same stuff popping up.

Warranty claim denied due to engine ingesting dirt/water. Seems the seal around the air intake box could be the culprit.....lots of unhappy owners out there.

Well, I found a better deal on a unit this weekend; this one is the camo edition for $120 more than what I was going to pay for the basic green version...the one that was sold while I was on my way to the dealers.

I've got a couple more questions on it and then will decide.

Not quite sure if the warranty is 6 month or 12 month.....salesman told me 6, business manager told me 12. (Polaris website is no help regarding what they offer for a warranty.)

    570 midsize.

I have thought about going the Jeep route instead a UTV. Jeeps can be hard to get in and out of or us older dudes and they’re heavier too. They do hold their value very good though.

Regarding the jeeps, I have also been looking at the wranglers.

There is a 2010 not so far away waiting for a new owner. Lots of surface rust underneath but still solid. It came from Canada.

It is easier for me to buy a tail permit/ORV registration for the jeep than it would be for me to buy a roof, front and rear windshield, wiper system, heater, doors, trailer to haul the utv down the highway, .............you get the idea!

    Well now...........
Dealer just called and sweetened the pot a bit by dropping his price to accept my offer on the utv.

Only thing is, after I test drove it, I found some cosmetic issues with it. I told him that my original offer had expired and asked them to consider this new one since it will cost them (Polaris) close to $1K to repair/replace issues.

Just may have to pull the trigger on this one. A touch under 8300.

Yep, I believe that was related to small power equipment...shame. Same quality as a Honda unit IMO. They used good gen sets in their generator line.

"And it’s fast. The XG850 can travel up to 40 mph with its 48-horsepower, gasoline-powered Subaru engine. That’s an 11 mph boost from Kubota’s other RTV-X models, making it Kubota’s fastest RTV."

Kubota positions Sidekick RTV-XG850 as a speedy alternative to pickups on jobsites (VIDEO)

Happy for the Subaru Line Workers...looks like they found something to keep busy with.

That's a good deal. I love mine but I will say after driving the new model they really do feel much better.
I honestly have no idea what I would have to do to get mine stuck. If it will physically fit, it will just keep going. Much better traction than my wrangler.

It might not help your decision on this particular unit but to put it in perspective the Ranger is easily the best tool I own. Followed somewhat close by my 2 lost lift.
