Usually in a wood tote area, it will be guinea wasp. We had some build between the metal panel and the bladder......
Going up to get a couple more totes Thursday for the wood shed. Hopefully that's it. It seems I'm finding room for more. How the hell does that happen... I can't beat the price and I'll never find them again for the money.
With that nice purdy tractor you have, and limited space, I'd go 2 high... Like that double mint chewing gum, "double the pleasure, double the fun"
I'm gonna be good. Once all these totes are full, I'm gonna go over to my club and take some standing dead for next winter and process, most likely in spring.
Just saw this posting on NH Craigslist. A guy in Hanover, MA has 'scratch and dent' IBC totes for $69.00. https://boston.craigslist.org/sob/hvo/d/hanover-job-site-water-tank-ibc-tote/7902491306.html
That's not a bad price at all. Around here they go for $100/each and up. Except for this guy one town over from buZZsaw BRAD https://hartford.craigslist.org/for/d/wallingford-275-gallon-food-grade-ibc/7915276407.html
If you're willing to drive down to Winchester, I have 2, there. I paid $100.00 each for those and brought them up with me, give me that for both and there yours!
Yeah, right now I can barely drive the mile to our post office so that's a no-go until I have hip surgery. Appreciate the offer though!
Here's the 2 I got today, left side, I cut for the openings. The wood shed has what it's needed. I'm gonna keep the 4 in there and just stack in front of of them... I have 14 totes so it'll give me 5 cord if I overfill them. I gotta keep one for "uglies".
If I could get them up to you, I would. I'll be on a time limit. I'm coming up in later March to clean out some stuff.
When I first started looking several years back, the cheapest I saw was $100.00, and I went and got a couple. The guy was selling them like free Beer! I was actually on his waiting list at the time and had to drive 60 miles. Today, around me, the closest guy is selling them for $125 and they are not new. This guy is selling them for $50.00 I'm buying from and If I had a couple acres, I'd get 50 of them if I could for the price this guy is selling them for, I just don't have the room. I'm hoping some of the NJ people read this who are within the Phila area radious. This guy has about 75 on hand now and they're nearly new.
No, they won't work with my current setup either. If I were to put a wood furnace in my basement they'd be ideal. I could store several totes under the addition behind my house, then move them with a pallet jack to the basement door. I did think about getting a couple to use as chunk/ugly bins, but again, I have no way to move them around. I might as well keep storing the ugly stuff in small pallet pens.
I bought 4 food grade IBC totes from him for my solar powered irrigation system for the orchard. Super nice guy, shop is way at the back of an industrial yard. At the time he was the closest with food grade totes.
Crazy how much they’ve gone up. I bought 20-330’s from a guy near Kahn Tractor for $20 each. 275’s were $15 each. This was several years ago. Maybe 2020.
