The intake boot seals against the carb, no gasket on any 026 that I have seen.

Ive had my 026 for about a year now, really like it
Good power and light, bought it used from the tech at the stihl dealer who likes to fix up project saws on the side, think i paid $300 with new chain and bar

Had an order from Amazon make it to Omaha via USPS on Sunday. Left the facility on Monday and is now sitting in Broken Bow, 3 or so hours away. WTH! I live in Omaha. Gifted some chains and USPS has them sitting in Detroit now for over a week just saying shipping delayed.

Be very glad when 2020 is over.:headbang:

General chainsaw use question - is it recommended to switch on the chain brake and leave the saw running at idle on the ground for 30 seconds - 1 minute or so at a time while you move logs around before cutting again? Is there a general rule of thumb or limit on the amount of time you should leave the chain brake engaged at idle? Or do most folks shut the saw off between every use?

I believe the osha/ansi standard is off, if it’s more than 30sec

Shouldn’t affect the saw as far as I know. Some suggest letting the saw ideal before shutting it off. Should always have the chain break on when not cutting for any amount of time.
