I too ran my wife's GMC Terrain on 8-10k intervals with top shelf synthetics. No problems with the phasers even on an engine known for cam phaser issues. (2.4L EcoTec 4, hated it! Car was great, engine was meh.)
9 pages and we have gone from used bar oil to engine oil changes. Pretty soon we will have lifetime engine oil, kinda like lifetime trans fluid, does not even need checked, no dipstick. just change oil filter and add a little here and there
There are bypass filtration systems that get awful close to achieving just that. They've been in use on big trucks for years. AMSOIL Bypass Oil Filtration System
Not sure what your talking about this beer is great! In all seriousness though I find this thread very interesting, learning a lot and hearing some cool stories, the bypass filter for one. Never heard of it, very cool!!!
I dont understand why this is even a debate lol. Different oils are made for different applications, you wouldnt put old engine oil in your hydro tractor, so why would you use engine oil for bar oil? Because your smarter that the people who developed bar oil?
