It has been slow going on the floors just working on them an hour here and there in the evenings as time allows. It too about a week and half to get the bedroom finished up. Because of the way everything laid out I had to spline the backside of the first row to allow me reverse the wood floor and finish up the two closets and last row that ties in to the bathroom doors.

Anyone who has done wood floors will know what I am talking about but once you get down to the last few rows you can't the hammer activated flooring nailer in there because the wall interferes with it.

Anyhow I made a tool out of a pull bar that allowed me to hammer the pieces into place. This thing worked great and you could even use it to set the nails which you toenail with the Brad nailer when they didn't counter sink all the way.

Not as much as it seems....... This has been 8 weeks of working on it for a few hours here and there between kids sporting events.

Right now I'm almost at a standstill while I'm waiting on the trim and stair treads to be finished up by the guy that's making them.

For trim I'm going with 3/4" thick by 6"high poplar and it will be painted white. Casing will be 2.5" and the stair tread will be oak stained to match the floors. Can't wait for it to get done.

Project looks good! IMG_0798.JPG I'm working on a similar project myself. Pulled all the carpet up on the entire 2nd floor. I wish I had gone with wider boards it took forever at 2 1/4 inches at a time. And I like your tool for the edge they were a bit tricky. I just have to finish getting the baseboard trim stained and put up should only take a few more weeks couple hours at a time!

Okay, that is a little too much - TV in the bathroom indeed.

Otherwise, nice looking tile and love the wall color. with all the swirling shadows, it almost looks like you have linoleum on your ceiling in the 2nd pic.

Looking great! I do like the tv in the bathroom. I ran wiring for my basement one and in the room that will be our main floor bathroom too. :)

    Great job Certified.

Would it be possible for a review of the Moritz Dump trailer in your pics? That is one of the brands on my dump trailer list. 12 or 14 foot? How does it pull? Would you buy it again?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Nice work! It looks lovely. We are also planning to renovate our home and are really confused about the flooring options. We are unable to decide which type of flooring we must choose- Hardwood or laminate flooring? When we asked our relatives, many suggested to go with the hardwood flooring. Now we are trying to to look for some flooring professionals that may guide us correctly.

Have you looked at an engineered wood floor? (Not to be confused with a laminate wood floor).

For us it started with replacing old carpet. Then new baseboard, paint the walls, new light fixtures... lasted almost a year. But I was doing the work myself. Good luck. Be sure to get references from anyone you hire you will be looking at the floor for a long time.

So the dump trailer is actually my good friends that I borrow from time to time. It pulls good but it's definitely heavy. I see guys pulling them all the time with half ton trucks but I can't really imagine it. I like the way the back gate swings open and it has ramps that pull out for loading tractors etc. The do action seems to work good and I have never really had it hesitate even with a load of gravel on it.

Wow it's been a while since I posted. I guess changing jobs three times in 5 months will do that at to you. I did manage to get the upstairs remodel finished up and here are a few pics of the finished project. After finishing the floors in the bedroom I moved on to tackling the stairs so that I could lay the hallway. The stairs ended up being a total pain in the butt. I ended up pulling the outside stringers off so I could slide a skirt board down between the stringers and the wall. It doesn't sound that bad until you realize all the drywall was fastened to the stringers. I basically stood on my head to cut off those screws...... Good times!

Those stairs may have been a PITA - but you did a beautiful job!

Thanks man, it was a labor of love and a lot of frustration at how slow it all went! I sanded and stained the treads to match after playing around with mixing stains to get the right color. It ended up being more work than I anticipated as always lol
