We have the same units thanks to the advice from IHP. Got one for each stove and this our first season using them. Have not done a test yet to see how long they will last. They usually sell for $214-ish but we got really lucky and scored them on sale for $140. As a backup to these we also have a Champion 3100 inverter genny that has been tested successfully to run both stoves and both fridges at the same time. Just don't plug in a coffee maker LOL.
APC SMX1000 free from work but looks like they are around $500. Works great on my Quad. I'm cheap, if I had to buy one I wouldn't spend this type of coin on one.
I bought the CyberPower one too. Since Black Friday last year when IHATEPROPANE posted the sale link, I have seen the good one on sale a few more times. Whatever you buy this is the right time of year to do it, maybe wait another week or two too.
When I run on generator, I have to use this TrippLite...the APC doesn't like the generator power. I don't leave the TrippLite out all the time because it's too loud in the living room (fans running)
Yes, no error code on the UPS that I saw, and error code on stove was "reverse polarity" but the stove ran fine on a direct connection.
Are you looking for long/short periods of time is the question needed to really decide on what to get. I've built my own because I used to work 12hr shifts and needed time to get home and fire up the genny for even longer stints! Had to buy a CyberPower 1500 to rectify a Fahrenheit finicky shut-down mood swing as being a manual light model. Both stoves are provided UPS but not at the same time, inverter on the small side but I never really tried. The Fahrenheit wasn't in the cards at the time of putting a UPS system together. I did try the coffee maker but no dice They use a bit of wattage.
So I gather using this ups,with the clean sine wave,defeats the Harman shut down mode,only allows the stove to run a bit longer?
That's what I would gather as well. I bought mine (no Harman)so I would have time to set up the generator if I was actually home and I lost power. Otherwise, they would just burn out and restart when power comes back. I have had small blips of power loss, and the stoves just keep chugging along.
