Upgrading the Vistaflame VF55 breakable firebrick to the cast iron M55

    Has anyone done this?
    The stoves are the same And the iron backing will fit.
    1. Remove the original VF55 firebrick and steel plate behind it and top metal strip.
    2. Then either purchase an M55 top baffle or the VF55 baffle can be notched with a jig saw to fit on top of the iron backing.
    Pic 3 shows the VF55 top baffle with no notches which can easily be cut with a Sabre saw like pic 4 with the 3 notches to fit the iron backing plate.

    Looks pretty cool(figuratively). Does that give you more firebox size? I’d be curious to hear some long term reviews.

    No difference in size, just makes the stove like the M55 and the firebrick never gets brittle and break. So cheaper in the long run. :)
