UPDATE OF THE LITTLE EXTRA P2

i went down a youtube rabbit hole of go karts with souped up predator motors after reading this thread.
i am exceptionally happy with the workhorse 2200 genny we got from them.
i read a lot of reviews of the engines they use in them, and professionals like cement finishers spoke very highly of them when they were used in equipment they plied their trade with.

i will now refrain from going off topic any further on snowy's thread.

 

Stopped in town and picked up a few washers and screws for the P2 to replace stuff that was either missing or needed an upgrade.

Got the top casting/ fan assembly all bolted in place and it looks great.

Jumper wired it to the 120V and lit off the fan.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

Casting seated in nicely and a careful visual inspection looks good where the casting mates with the rear of the heat tube housing.

Hard to see up there real good but both edges can be seen with a light and a mirror and they are snug into the rope gasket.

One of the jack bolt ears stripped out due to the self tapping screws they use at mfg.

Tapped them both out to 5/16 and installed long set screws in place of the 1/4 inch bolts.

Does not take much torque to pull the casting up snug, but the threads were just thrashed from previous entries into the thing by ?????????

Will get piccy's in a while and post.

Stopped by the hardware store today and got some 5/16" set screws to go in the top casting jack screw locations.

All good now.

Going to scare up some high temp wire loom to guard up wires that feed the low temp switch and the draft fan motor wires.

Leaving this stuff just rattling about as was factory SOP sucks, and I am not gonna do it.

All for now.

Gotta order a fire brick panel now.
