Bend, Oregon is fighting fire, evacuating people and dealing with those who want to see the eclipse.

Well we get tomorrow off, but had to work on Saturday for it. So I'm making 11 gallons of beer and maybe watch the eclipse (if the clouds are thin enough). I've got my eclipse hood ready to go... since I procrastinated and not knowing that I was going to be able to see till Thursday... I had to Engineer a solution... a old remote activates the light sensor...

They put some clouds and rain in the forecast here. They've put rain in the forecast a lot lately and we haven't gotten a drop in 3 weeks.

Did you see any traffic, MasterMech? There wasn't much here in Simpsonville but the Walmart seemed a little crowded. Reminds !e of all the hoopla the media starts when they are expecting snow at home!

I just made my own viewers. Got some picture frame glass, put some tape around it, lit a candle, hovered the glass over the flame once, then again. Its so black you can't see thru it, but holding it up to the sun, its just a dim Orange glow.
