Yeah, I'm ready for colder weather too. damm bugs. Still trying to nail a yellow jacket nest after a few days of the usual chem warfare x 4. They keep coming. This is the nest I had my head within 18" of... o_O There are multiple holes they are using too. Not gonna dump gas down there (one trick) so tried another internet "trick". Hot water and dish detergent. Near as I can tell, tho they're a lot cleaner, they still keep coming... :headbang: Just hit them again with a Raid wasp spray that says it'll kill the nest too. We'll see. Have used ant sprays that have killed their nests... so...

Sounds like an epic battle of Man vs. Insect. I'm assuming they're in the ground? Or a nest secluded deep inside on a building.

Their in an old squirrel hole right in the middle of the front ground section of our grandson's playhouse/slide... :hair: Glad I found em. They've been coming out of a second and third hole today. I just went down a couple minutes ago and drowned em with the Raid. They should all be in there (it's dark enough) havin a good drink. I'll send Giz down in the morning to check em out... ;) kidding... I'll send my bride... :picard:(riiight)

I've yet to see a tick anywhere around my house in 13+ years. Not complaining at all. I had one latch on to me 5 or 6 years back while cutting wood in the woods about 20 miles north of me, but that's the only time I've ever had one on me. I can't imagine what it would be like dealing with those in your own backyard.

I guess that's part of the benefit of living around farmland. Not a whole lot of area for the nasty critters to hang out. Except the d@&n mosquitoes.
