Worst case scenario is the FHC takes up a collection to send ya back to lumberjack school! :saw:

Dont feel bad Joe, my last felling didn't go well either. Remember that big red maple I hung up?:emb:

Good weld, longer handle, more leverage. Unless it gets too heavy.

Send me back? Never been. Learned everything I know on You Tube. Joes Professional Firewood to be exact :)
I’ve noticed when it comes to felling I have good days and bad days. That was a bad day, hung two in a row out of three.

After the log arch switch died and I had to abandon pulling on that tree or moving wood I dropped four more oaks. That was a better day. All four threaded in between all the saplings. Maybe from now on when I hang one I’ll just put the saw away LOL

Needs more wedges and a few more saw cuts....then it'll go.

A whole year and no ugly stumps? I admire your stump cutting prowess. Lol

I had 2 ash trees taken down. One had a high stump left behind. Tree service made a nice level felling cuts.

    Then, I showed up.

    ~sigh~

I should have cut a target line around it, before having at it. Oh well.

Ya know there’s no law against going back after the fell and making it look 100% professional. Just make sure no one is looking :) That’s not bad anyway, it had a lean.
Unless I need lumber which is rare I’ll cut a high stump. One gimpy leg, one bad back, one bad neck,,,,last thing I need is to be felling trees hunched over or on my knees. Quite often I’ll get two 16” rounds off the stump, it’s only firewood. When I leave I want the stump as low to the ground as possible without messing up a chain. I’m not about to try and accomplish that with a whole tree above me LOL
If they have rot in em like yours I’ll usually just leave it.
