Typical Oak yield?

    I realize that tree sizes can vary a great deal. We took down an old oak in our yard, but I didn't pay much attention to the overall yield. The tree was probably a good 5' to 6' in circumference. At least 40' tall.

    What is the biggest yield you've gotten from one tree?

    Jason, to be honest, we rarely even keep track of how much we get from one tree. We just do it and move on to the next one. We usually stack the wood up after it is bucked then do all the splitting at one time. It is then we determine how much we've cut total.

    Bigguns you can have have over 9 cord. I've gotten 5 cord from just the tops.
    Being only 40 feet probably closer to 5 cord
