We hope to by sometime next year. Chrissy and I need to get over to the Black river, her Father was a huge fan of that area for hunting and nature walks. She has some of his cremation remains needs to be respectfully placed in a certain area. Then we'll pay visits to all our friends and relatives out there.

I started the paint burn in process on my new Drolet Escape 1800. Better out there than in the living room. I have two wheelbarrows full of junk campfire wood that I will use. I let it hit 700 degrees F 4BC9E883-E8D0-43E7-8920-CB39D6005BB5.jpeg briefly today tomorrow I will burn a longer yet slight cooler fire perhaps 650.

I made my own hearth tools out of a walmart hand tiller, some metal rod, and a broken musky rod

Very, very smart!!! I once knew a guy, who knew a guy, who warned him not to paint his stove and install it before doing that! And, he did.... The house stunk for two years and the fire dept didn't think it was a funny prank when his wife called them thinking his house was burning inside because all the smoke was coming out the windows... :rofl: :rofl:

I picked up a hearth pad the other day. Now my son is in Las Vegas for a week. So these two items will remain un connected for a little while longer. Son and his buds are going to help me move stove into house,,

I have a little over 2.5 cords of oak, elm, locust, and cherry stashed in the garage and basement.
