I'd ask TSC if I could take a moisture reading after a fresh split is made.
Heat treating is for killing bugs, not for seasoning wood.....

Hey, $3.99 is half the price what they get at Stop and Shop so compared to that TSC is a steal. :MM::fire::campfire:

I guess this is some more of that bull dung on the internet you read about on here sometimes.:D
    From woodheat.org
"A full cord is a large amount of wood. It measures four feet high by four feet wide by eight feet long (4 ft. x 4 ft. x 8 ft.) and has a volume of 128 cubic feet. The amount of solid wood in a cord varies depending on the size of the pieces, but for firewood it averages about 85 cubic feet. The rest of the cord volume is air space."

I need to add a section of chimney and can not do it alone, the locking bands won't lock the sections so when I tried to remove the cap, the section below wanted to turn; since I am not like Lakshmi I need someone else to help me. I contacted a friend but they said it would be the middle of October. So I need to figure out another course of action. Whatever I do, I need to be careful because I have to stand at the roof's edge to work on the chimney.

It is dark outside, I normally don't cut when I can not see what I am cutting or how it is falling.

I'm going to start selling those red mesh bags for camp firewood. Bags cost me .70 and holds one cubic foot of wood, anyone got any thoughts on what such a bag could sell for? Thought of zip ties for bundling, one on each end and then one between them for a handle, but seemed like too time consuming than just the bag. Will sell small splits, 20% moisture or less, hardwood (mostly ash) Local stores seem to get about $6.00 regularly.

When the rains stop I plan on cutting some smaller stuff with the Echo. I want to take that Black? Oak down but need The Beast for that.

I like cutting when the leaves are off the trees; I can judge better on the lean, etc, of the tree. Plus, I don't have the garden work in the winter. We don't get the snow on the ground here all winter so that is a plus for winter cutting.

This wood is also very small, so sustaining any fire for more than 30-60 minutes will be tough. I saw these last night, and for the occasional fire (setting cost aside) it should work. Pricey heat.
