Just as an example of what the average "harry homeowner" could do if he decided to mix his own and store it in a metal can.

ECHO Red Armor 16 oz. 2-Stroke Cycle Engine Oil-6550006 - The Home Depot

Good e-free fuel around me costs 3.99 a gallon + 2.60 a gallon to mix @ 40:1 with the echo red armor(which has fuel stabilizer in it). That comes to around 6.60 a gallon vs. 22! Its actually less for me because, I don't buy mix oil in such small volume, but you all get the point. Its worth it to me to mix your own.

Try to tell this to my BIL though! :headbang:

Nice spread. I grew up in Gaffney and familiar with Upstate. Is this near Simpsonville or Fountain Inn?

For 5 chain saws, a pair of string trimmers (I do also have a straight 4 stroke model too.) a pair of leaf blowers I use a lot of mix. since Nov 2018 I have used 5 gallons in the saws alone.
I am also giving consideration to makeing my own non ethnol gas too.

TrueFuel has saved an older buddy I know a lot of grief.
Took me a coupe years to convince him of cost and convenience after tending to his little saw and string trimmers a couple times.
I actually emptied a little Echo chainsaw tank into a glass bowel, he said look! it can't be water contamination..
We let it set near an hour, looked again and had a tablespoon of water in the bottom of the bowel.
The saw had only been sittin' (with 3/4 tank of fuel mix) for a couple months..(I know, I know)
He's old school and just didin't understand new gas/ethanol,,,
He's been using TrueFuel for a while now...

I use it. Buy the 5 gallon cans. I never have to empty my saws tanks. Use of the saws is intermittent. Never know if I’m gonna use them and when. Had problems with pump gas in the past and just switched. Non ethanol is very hard to find in my area and who knows how long it’s been underground.
This summer I’ll make the switch back to pump. Got a lot of bucking to do and time to do it. Might as well save a few bucks.

I use non ethanol and mix.
My Army buddy uses try fuel.. after repairing his carburetor three times. He switched the true fuel. He might take a tank of your a year.
If he comes to help me, we run Mix and it's all runs better. But we use a tank in an hour or two;)

True fuel or the Husky alternative is great for storing saws. Dump your pre mix, put in 3-4 oz and run long enough to get through carb and store that way. Better than running dry.
