Nice Swags!! 2.5" on that truck is enough to fit 35's. Easily! I had 35"s on my F-150, then went to 33"s. I have new 35"s that will be here Tuesday. I can't wait. You would think that 2" don't mean much? But man they make a HUGE difference. For your truck, with that engine? 35"s would be a walk in the park.
Yep. From TreadWright. I was gonna get their "Kedge Grip" tires, but for the miles my truck sees now? It's not needed. My last set was put on about 10-11 yes ago and they were $1,300 for the four of them (33" or 305-70-R17) which were Pro Comp Xtreme All terrain (40,000 mile tire that I got about 55,000 out of). My buddy had the standard All terrains (50,000 mile tire and I know he well exceeded that). They are good tires, but pricey. My truck doesn't get the daily driver deed anymore. I just needed a newer tire, with some good meat, that will last a few years. And for $700 ($760 to be exact), these will do just that.
Thanks, let me know how you like them after running them for a bit. That MTR tread pattern is a proven performer.
Will do. I am gonna start a thread after I get them on for a full review. Now back to Swags thread.. Sorry buddy. (But it is a cheap place to get good tires. D and E load ratings)
I've had a few sets of Treadwright tires, they do a good job and if you ever have a problem they take care of it ASAP. Good buy! I'm bummed they quit making 33/35x12.5 r15 but they have a lack of carcasses, no blame on them. I also love that you can get the old G/Y MTR Tread from them, those tires clean out amazingly in the mud!
Oh, and we need to see the tires on the truck or else we just think you're making a coffee table out of nice tires and plywood
They are, they just re-tread old carcasses. Too bad they ditched the old pattern, it was a favorite of mine.
I think o came across that site before. I looked but says they no longer offer 33/12.50x15s I guess that is the downfall to being g oldschool. I hate 18 and 20" rims on a truck bit the new ones have such big brakes you rarely see anything under 17" now a days.
I deffinitly am not gangster or fake prep yuppi redneck enough. When I ride into augusta and go to Academy sports. Which is in the part of town where the money is. I laugh at all the highschool/ college age kids and young twenty somethings there. Its like a chevy truck lot. All new model chevies z71 package and dontforget the cooler in tthe back??? Those kids can't fix a thing or kill something that they found and not paid in some way to kill. I think about Phill robertson..."yuppies , been in the subdivision to long".
I don't have a problem with big rims. You want some 20's, go get 'em. You want a 24's under a two-tone Crown Vic with a white pit bull sitting shotgun...go for it. Different strokes for different folks. Not my style but I'm not going to hate on them for it. I don't think its fair to lump every dude in his 20's with a new pickup into the "daddy bought it for him too bad he can't change the oil himself" bucket. I bought a brand new F150 when I was in my 20's...and I paid cash for it. I have no idea what that last sentence meant.
Swags, My BIL has a truck almost identical to yours...right down to the color. The previous owner has a leveling kit installed up-front and it looked good until you put anything in the bed then it sagged like crazy. A couple 2.5" blocks in the rear made it look sharp. He's got 35's under it now and it looks GOOD. Definitely not stock looking but still low enough you can pick stuff up into the bed. Still drives fine too.
I'm not saying g everyone thats young and has one is. But if you see the ones I'm talkingabout you would agree. These guys look llike they have not done the first day of work.
