The dump cylinder will not lift the whole load. This is the 4th time they had to do this. they do hand pack the rounds in rows to fit more in too. It was a really full load

Ok just came in. Moved about 2/3 of truck with loader bucket. Plenty of room now for another load of rounds.

Midwinter I agree it is a never ending supply. Your barge idea is a good one.
Thing is that this should end because of cold and snow... NOPE - they were out working in 20° weather, just a little snow left.
I’m ready for it to end but it’s hard to let go of the tiger’s tail.
Got text at dark chips in morning around 8:30. :D

At least it's oak, if you get behind for some reason, it will be fine just laying around for years. If it was some wood like sugar maple, different story.

9CFE98ED-114D-42EA-B783-E852668644C2.jpeg Today I was out back putting front brake pads on my 2014Tacoma. I got a letter from Toyota saying I needed a frame inspection. Did it and I need a spray not frame yet. My 2004 Tacoma had frame replaced. What gives with their frames. Anyway they said I needed brakes. Had one wheel jacked up and was removing the old pads.

Had my headphones on listening to radio and I felt this rumbling. Turned around and there’s this big dump truck. Olvin the tree guy. He said I tried to text you several times. Well I don’t carry my phone around cause I keep breaking them!
Ok what do you have there? Chips or wood. Cause I can’t take any chips. Engine went in my tractor and I can’t spread the chips!
Told me he has some nice oak and locust all cut up.
Ok twist my arm, I guess I can fit some more.
He dumped it and left. Back to the brakes.

I MISS MY TRACTOR A LOT!!

buZZsaw BRAD there is plenty of locust here but the most common would be red oak.

I’ve been working on expanding my metal roofed storage area. Just finished with the 3rd extension. All told it’s about 32 ft long and 12 ft deep. I’m filling it now with oak that is 4 years old. Of course it’s all on pallets 100 ft away. All moved with golf cart.

Some pics of storage area. Got around 10 more skids to move into storage.
Gonna go look at a Kabota and Mahindra this moving by hand is not so good!

Right but there are truckloads of rounds behind them that they’ve blocking in.
I’ll split a bunch more and borrow a skidsteer to move them. I know there will be a new tractor in my future:D

So far my research is indicating it will be red or orange.
Main requirement is can it lift a skid of green red oak. Then the other stuff backhoe, wheel spacers, power beyond, no DPF emissions junk too!

    Midwinter thanks for suggesting update.
Time to update. Didn't do it sooner because it's mostly repetitive stuff that I've already posted.
Parked the tractor one evening in shed. Next day went to start it and as I turned key, starter tried to engage and I heard/ felt a metallic snap and then nothing.
Removed starter had it tested all good. Had a diesel mechanic come to house thought bent rod or valve.

It's difficult to have a wood system based on palletized wood, with no way to move pallets
Really thought I'd end up with a new red or orange hydro tractor but... 1t.jpg
Surprise, I ended up with a white one

    Bobcat

I removed the canopy from my ford 1920. Painted it white and put it on the bobcat. It's really a Jeep CJ removable hardtop I modified.
cut old oil tank in half put it on carryall frame half filled with solid cement blocks as counterweight. Kept my ford bucket ( it was bigger and stronger ) and forks.
I also added side golf cart mirrors. I added magnets to hold them on. Work great.cost about $15

The Woodchips in the pics previously posted look like this after a year or so. They were 2 ft deep here and I just scraped the top to remove dried sticks and junk.
