Well Willie showed up around noon today. Here we go again.
    Woodchips

and then a nice truck or oak dumped in the exact same spot where the white oak had been!

While I was waiting for Willie to show up I got another text from Olvin (other wood guy).
Has chips and wood for me. Didn’t want a traffic jam so I didn’t reply until Willie was ready to leave. Told him no wood but ok for chips.
10 min later red truck shows up and dumps chips.
Told Olvin that I couldn’t take anymore but would send text when I needed more.
Very nice guy and had his wife with him in truck.

There was so much stream coming off of chips we couldn’t see into back of truck to see if any was frozen in the very back.
Had to get to work quick spreading pile before someone called fire dept cause of smoke.
    Once spread out smoke stopped

I did talk to Willie in first truck and told him I didn’t think I could take much more and he said no problem just let him know and we were done. He would take the wood and chips to the dump.

    What a waste!

and as he left said see you tomorrow!

Sorry didn't see this. Just got amazon and search "boat flotation cushion " . You'll get pics and prices. I paid about $15 for ours. It's waterproof so if you accidentally leave it out no harm no foul. . Use it in garden when weeding, or bringing wood in for the winter. I like to kneel for those bottom rows when I am stacking. That cushion helps a lot. We just use a round of wood.

Screen Shot 2020-01-09 at 4.38.19 PM.png My field of dreams. I think I can squeeze in one more load all the way to the right.:D
Also, slapped 2 more pallets together in center.
Load dropped today circled in red, all the way to the left!

jrider loved your The March to 150 thread.
BUT at my age (69) Slow and Steady wins the race!
I HAVE been in high gear!:D
I just happy to be doing this day after day. My work crew consists of a Ford 1920 tractor, Huskee splitter, pickaroon and me.
This wood will keep me busy till the summer and I should be on the 8 year plan by then.
I love the splitting and managing wood, giving split wood to my neighbor and daughter.

Just wanted to update probably finish this thread.
Got a couple more loads of oak and maybe 5 trucks of chips. Things are winding down for the tree guys.
Had to remove neighbors wood gate so I could spread chips and even out slope for him (with his permission).

Forecast is for wind, rain, snow for the next few days. I could still fit a couple more loads of chips and wood.
A friend told me he finished a lot clearing job and has some nice big oak tree sections that he will drop of in log length soon.

Daughters FIL came over to split with my equipment. Never used big splitter before, only small electric. He loved it and has split several skids of wood.

Daughters FIL just finished splitting his 3rd full skid! So a little over a full cord for him. He really seemed to enjoy using the splitter and loved driving the tractor with bucket or forks.

Willie said he would be coming tomorrow with more chips and wood, so we’ll see...
The wind is really starting to crank now, don’t see how the tree guys can work in it.
I have a feeling we’re done for the season
    But
I think I can still fit in another truck load of wood:D

I don’t think so. Just an old guy trying to keep moving and doing things. I truly love being outside. Managing the wood is rewarding and fun.

Update we got snow and rain and now it’s cold and frozen.
Willie texted and asked if I wanted a truckload of white oak.
Of course, I just cleared out a spot! No chips today so I don’t have to start up tractor.
Guy had to off load quite a bit by hand. This is same truck that brought all the big loads of rounds.

These guys are great they have to load the truck by hand.
Some rounds take 3 of them to lift in. They kept the length of rounds 16-18” for me and noodled quite a few of them.
Now I have to tru to make room for just one more load.:D
I think I can squeeze one more in. It’s so hard to pass this stuff up.
I’ve saved a lot of great stuff from the dump!

    Simply awsome!!

Why the need for offloading by hand? Not enough room for the wood to dump and slide?
