trimming hedges

Here's some pic's of the yew hedge at work that I pruned , started yesterday finished up today.

Thanks man It used to be bigger we took out 30' section where my cart is parked and put in a paver area around the Rolex clock.

 

Those begonias look healthy. The whole place looks good.

When I saw the pics, I was going to say western red cedar as it looks so much like that. Western red cedar isn't that compact though and reaches giant heights. It is what I have been stripping bark from to try and make baskets.

I would recomend one of these two options for trimming as presented by @will711

 

Your hemlocks are subject to getting infested by the Wooly Adelgid. If they don't have it they soon will. They never were meant to be a hedge to begin with so you might as well replace them now. Otherwise you will be dumping pesticides on them constantly to fight a losing battle.

I have a lot on my plate right now so trimming is just a temporary fix for the time being.

This is what I use to prune with Felco # 2

 

Thats probably a lot better than a chainsaw on a rope.
