The only reason I keep it around/put up with it is that it truly is a "featherlite"...easy to "one hand it", which I like in some spots.

I also have a little home owner Echo that I use for general cleaning up after mowing. I got the bigger one to do larger scale stuff that the little one really struggled with. There is no struggling with that one. LOL Plus it allows me to put the saw blade on it and easily take care of all the pines that pop up from year to year. They harvested the 40 acres abutting our place and pines are taking over and creeping into our space. I don't want the pines to take over, as we live in a nice oak stand.

This is the 555fx, the shorter shaft version available in the states. Otherwise the same thing.

Anyone have a favorite trimmer line? Always looking for a better one to try. I used a yellow color star shaped line last year, lost the label so no idea what brand. It didn't last as long when it hit anything hard, but it did cut through the tall weeds really well.

I forgot he did a video on trimmer line, going to have to watch that one. His videos are great! Thanks for the heads up!

Picked this unit up for VT 12+ years ago. It ran OK. I could never get it dialed in just right and I’m pretty decent with carb tuning. I had some starting issues last summer and picked up an Amazon carb and an adjuster tool. For $20, why not? Turned out to be an excellent investment. The little trimmer runs like a dream now. Honestly, runs better than when it was brand new.

Yep. I have a few extra here id give you one if you were local. Only thing is the head spins opposite direction so it has left handed threads on the mount. The curved shaft units line head aren't interchangeable.

I’m liking the durability of this line. I have to cut a bunch of pear, Blackgum, pine and poplar seedlings with the occasional fence hit and it lasts. The FS90 can’t spin it as fast, but it doesn’t have to.

Wow that's a wicked looking line!
I just used the last of my roll so I'm going to give it a try.

I used the Husky gray stuff for many years. I have since settled on the orange line from Echo. Nice clean cut on grass and agro enought to tackle light brush.

I remember many moons ago before the lines became more developed that I had really good luck with using piece's of speedometer cable.

Husqvarna 323L is what I have. Pretty much the only one I’ve ever used, and the only one that I have ever owned personally. Works well enough I guess. Had it for probably close to 15 years, it doesn’t get a lot of use 5-10 hours a year maybe.
Always used Husqvarna titanium force line, got a spool of.095 when I bought the trimmer. that is about gone and have a big 1# spool of the same in .105 I got for a good price in a clearance bin.

An Echo SRM 225 has recently come into my possesion. Previous owner had attempted carb repair and was left with a unit that would not build revs. Took carb apart and found the screw holding the metering level was not put back correctly. Would now build revs but very boggy/4cycly. Used hot pick method to remove high side plastic plug and have been messing with it a bit. Very difficult to get it to spin up like it should. I've bottomed the H screw and it still wants to 4stroke on the high end. I can find spots that will let it rev fully, but it seems to be fleeting, even when I quit adjusting. Will keep messing with it. Nice trimmer. Pretty light.
