that looks very interesting, i have some areas where that would be useful. pricy even for the multifit Stens version $240 on amazon which is more than my Ryoby multi shaft unit cost.
Been curious about these since I first saw them. Kinda spendy so I was never willing to buy it to try it. I think they are meant for areas where thrown debris is no buneo. (landscaping around car parks, etc) Nice to hear that they work well. Wonder how much the replacement blade/s are?
There is a compounding pharmacy out west that makes a serum to take each spring that stops poison ivy reactions. I saw it in a farm show magazine I used to subscribe to. I'll see if I can find the information.
I’ve got a 131R and a 111 bike handle, I wish I would have gotten a bike handle 131 instead of the R, I like weedeating much better with the handlebars. I know people are down on the 4mix engine, but all of mine including the HT131 and HT101 always start and perform great. I’ve had the HT101 and a KM90 for about 10 years. I haven’t adjusted valves on any of them yet.

Does your 131 seem to run at a slower rpm than your older trimmers? I’m not really sure what that 4 mix means compared to what they used to have. I just got a bike handle 131 & all though it runs okay it just doesn’t seem to have the rpm’s of my FS-80 which I absolutely love. I got a decent harness and the 131 with the bicycle handle is a lot kinder on my back than the loop handle FS-80 .
No. This was a liquid you drink once a year in the spring, if I recall, and you are immune through the season.
The 4 mixes run slower. From the FS131 manual From the FS80 manual The two stroke should be able to have 1000 rpm more than the 4 mix. I like the 4 mix way better if I have a blade attached cutting through thick stuff. I run it at full throttle and it will cut through anything within reason. It won’t rev as high but is has good torque. I like the traditional two strokes for string trimming grass/weeds around fences and embankments.

I just ordered a set of blades from Russo to have on hand. They were $141+tax. Looks to me like they can be sharpened and I bet they last a long time based on my usage so far. brenndatomu has the link above for you. I’m running this on a km131r kombi-system. I mainly bought the 131 to run a power broom because I’m tired of running a rake for sawdust, twigs, & wood chips in my clients yards. I completely agree with Ohio the torque on this thing is fantastic.
Thanks for posting. I’ll give it a try. When I was a kid I could roll in the stuff and not get it. Now I don’t usually get PI bad and have to be exposed to it for several hours before I do. However, being an arborist it’s a matter of when not if it happens.
I get covered head to toe if I get it on me. But, I have Mast cell activation syndrome so I get any reaction much worse than most people.
PI,PO,PS, I get what looks like a heat rash all over, every square inch. Then its a trip to doc for a shots. Been about 14 years since the last bout, dog was kind enough to share.
Start eating Cashews. No, really. lol You can build resistance. I'm one of those who gained basic immunity from poison ivy by swimming in it most of my childhood. Many many bottles of Calamine lotion were used. Don't get me wrong, I don't go looking for trouble with it, but I don't fear it either. Smoke from burning it is my biggest concern. I do know a girl who got it inside her nose, throat and ears when we were young from smoke.
