    Boogeyman I'm glad you got to visit Zion NP. We surely enjoyed it when we got to visit there a few years back. We also wanted to go to Cedar Breaks but it was not open yet in May so we went on to Bryce.

    Finally remembered to get a pic for Backwoods. Not near as impressive as the above pictures, but still pretty cool.

    The tip of the arch has died back a little bit over the years. The bottom part is about 26-28" dbh, the upshoot stem is around 16-18".

    In bonsai this is called “raft style” and is based upon just such type trees that have fallen over yet don’t die.
