As some of you know, I've scored some free wood from tree services recently. Now another company wants to drop off more. This time elm in 36" pieces from a 29" tree.

They are dropping off the wood today.

    10' x 6' x 6'. Dump load.

I guess that's one way to get ahead.

    Stay tuned...

    Elm? Sounds like.....fun.......lol

It'll make good firewood, but you're probably gonna earn it! Sharpen up your chain good, noodle those pieces that won't split...

I burn lots of elm. The splitter doesn't complain.

I'd go batty if I had to hand split it Chuck Norris schlot style.:hair::wacky:

Good for you Horkn! Do you need your firewood at 16" lengths? So those 36" long blocks would get you two 16s and a couple of thick cookies!

    Did someone say COOKIES?

56° today. It's supposed to be like that for the next few days.

Spring is here early I guess.

Now that I'm home I took a couple pics.

17" is ideal, although if I put wood in the center of the stove (bay window insert) I can fit 18" north south loading. So we'll see what 36" really means on the elm.

    Me like coooookeeeeys!

Guess I'll have to get your next green truck and take a ride down to SE Wi. to give you a hand, no?
