I second that one. Looks good and healthy too. I don't believe there is any borer damage around us yet, but if I'm not mistaken Onondaga county has has confirmed activity? I have a pretty good amount of the stuff on our lot. None of it seems to come down on its own though! ( Cherry and red maple have been a lota lot)
I was driving to work the other day and I lost count of how many dead ash trees I saw in a few miles. A lot of them are right on the sides of the road. I can only imagine how many will be falling down in storms over the next few years.
Yeah, I couldn't quite see from the pic if that was five or seven leaflets. Maybe I should say Hickory, just so we have all the bases covered. But I'm inclined to go along with White Ash even though the bark isn't real forky...
No quiz, just saying most of the ash trees in our part of the country have been killed by the emerald ash borer. They are easy to spot in tree stands because they are usually the dead ones.
No quiz, it was in an area where we have or had some Butternut. It will stay up until Mother Nature or the EAB gets it.
No worries... Thought maybe you didn't have the EAB down your way yet... It's really a downer seeing all the dead ash trees around here.
