    After I took the pic of that branch I would have bet my hoard on it being a hackberry. Before that , I was clueless.

    Last picture of branch and split looks like hackberry to me.
    The o. P. Picture bark reminded me of sweet gym. But I don't know the color of that wood. Cause I've never cut one
