Hey, in my defense, I was originally planning on coming up......but we had trees of our own to do this past weekend.....;)

I've hung out with DexterDay and Barcroftb, and I'd gladly climb with them all day long..

I can't wait to dig into mine. Do you know if there is a unlimited coil that will fit these saws?

    I know you would brotha!

No worries. Brother Brad hooked it up.

But.... Pending any other plans or GTG's? We may have a Spring/Summer/Whenever GTG there. There is a Campsite right across the street that TurboDiesel and anyone else could park a camper if they decided to bring one. Literally... Right across the street. Because you won't be able to get back through the driveway with one. But you could still walk back to camp.

Lots of other trees and clean up work still needed there. I'm sure you could prob take what you cut. There is so much dead fall and dead standing it is ridiculous.

Also, lots of great things to do within a few minutes. If it's a warmer temp the Clarion river is great for canoe and tubing trips!

I can't post the pic after that one. Due to forum rules and my BIL being a member here... ...

It was hot that day..

JK... We stopped for lunch. It was the 1st time we went to the cabin alone without kids in 16 years of being together.

Sorry.. another hijack post of a climbing thread..

That's exactly what mine looks like too. Best climbing setup ever, IMO.

Do you run into trouble with the knot collapsing and getting hung in the caribener?

Joe it's my understanding that the braid portion of the vt keeps that from happening. I've never had issues with it.

Let’s see your guys best tied VT!? I’ve seen way to many variations so what works for you?

I tie a pretty basic 4 wrap 3 braid. If i haven't set my life line before asscent, I use this set up with my climbing line as my extra flip for hopscotching branches.

I make my own eye and eyes out of bulk 8mm accessory cord. Just a basic figure 8 bend for the eyes.

The vt is a knot you will have to play with. If it slips too much on you, make an extra braid or extra wrap. Really depends on how slippery your eye and eye rope and life rope are. That's where making your own eye and eye can really save you because you can make it whatever length you need. This one is about 30" eye to eye and 60ish total rope length.

I'd play with it at a low level until your 100% confident with it, and can tie it with your eyes closed.

I think my biggest confusion is weather to start the legs top over or under on the first cross and then alternate which is on the bottom

Stack the wraps like your making a Blake's. Then I've always gone top over bottom for the first braid then alternate. You can see it in the first pic above or this is a pretty concise example:
