They should pretty straight with not much for limbs and still fairly solid! The guy has a wood shop there so he talked about making flooring and moulding and cabinets so I guess time will tell.

Yep ddrt. Most of my climbing is still gaffs so sticking with what I'm comfortable with for now. Went with the slight inconvenience of no midline attachment and durability of steel with the zigzag over the rock exotica unicender. Wish rock exotica would make that in stainless steel! I think it's kind of ridiculous that the unicender wears out so quickly and it's almost half the price of new to rebuild.

Had a chance to take it in a tree today between snow flurries. Sorry no video but I did shoot some pics.

First impressions: super buttery smooth rope movement. The slack tends itself above about 15 feet with just the weight of the rope when assending. There is no slippage when you sit back in your saddle. Friction is minimal not a chance of smoke rolling off this thing.

One thing I didn't like was snaking the rope up through this thing. I was aware of the nature of the beast and I'm sure i will get better at it as I use it more.

So, which one of you wants to teach me to climb. I've got a whole lot of trees (15 acre of mature forest) that needs maintenance. Just sayin'

That thing looks pretty slick! Just takes place of an eye and eye rope prusik then?
How’s the rope thread up through? Is there rollers to align or something?

Yes it works just like an eye and eye prusik. Load sequence:

Yes pretty simple. It's a pretty tight fit. That's an 11.5 mm rope. I can't imagine trying to use this with 13mm which is at the upper limit of its specs. My guess is it will loosen up a bit with use.
