Nice touch here! It's the little things that sets Yale above some of the other guys.

    Great splice by rope logic...

    I like the knot characteristics.

200 feet just fit in a 5 gallon bucket.

Did they mess with you and put the tag on the wrong end? :mad:. Looks like it holds a knot and doesn’t go flat when you start putting bends in it.
It was my Christmas from my wife. I’ve been wanting one for a long time and just wanted the puller, but got the whole shooting match. It was on backorder they got really backed up all the way from the Black Friday sale. The rope bag is the silver bull 33l rigging bag. It’s got 200’ of 1/2” 3 strand in it now with plenty of room. Plus on the outside there is an open pouch, a flap and buckle pouch and a ring of caribiner loops all the way around the outside. Plus it’s a rubber coated canvas/vinyl material should hold up pretty well!

No they didn't do that but it was tucked down in the bag so I didn't see it until after I pulled the whole ball of twine out of the bag.:emb: fortunately it worked out pretty well anyway.

It's a pretty floppy rope compaired to some other rigging line. But the big thing with the polysorb is it's ability to hold up to dynamic loading. So good rope for speed line, blocking spars, etc.

Armbru84 hooked us up with a couple other goodies to go along with the rope. These should come in handy when we start doing some tree work.

That's a super cool Christmas present! I'd be interested to hear what you think of the silver bull rigging bag after you use it awhile. I've always been curious about them, but I'm to much of a cheap bastage to buy one. I've always rocked the 5 gal bucket with bucket boss:

I will say Joe you twisted my arm a bit and I ordered one of those hitch cord sample packs along with some other goodies you guys might be able to persuade me to share pics of. You get a lot of eye and eye cords for the price.

How do you like your sequoia? That's the big brother of the Navajo I'm using.

Haha twist twist! We are at 11 f right now I’m thinking of going out to enjoy the heat wave in a bit to run some of the cord and see how it is. Your right as far as what you get for the money in that pack there’s quite a bit!

It's been a really nice saddle. I upgraded from a wide back weaver double D, so it's night and day having more mobility. I tried a used ergovation from a buddy of mine and it wasn't all too impressive. With my husky dealer being a treestuff.com dealer, I get a awesome discount on most items.

Well I didn't intend to leave this hanging so long but got knocked out for the count by a migraine. Anyway it's a new tribe onyx: 20180111_124925.jpg

I should be able to post more pics and my impressions in a few days.

Also heads up fellas there's some good deals on 16 strand ropes at treestuffs lukes floor. I just scored 200' blue streak with 2 eyes and a weaver bag for over 100 off!

I couldn't get over the obnoxious monkey beaver graphics. I like August, but that was over the top. Plus it was hard for me to justify the extra $$ when the Onyx is a very similar saddle. I'm going to try switching the bridge to be adjustable.

What do you say J. Dirt how's the VT been working out for you? Did you get it dialed in with the hitch climber? Which hitch cord did you like most out of the sample pack? Inquiring minds want to know...

I hate to say it but between the 70 hour 7 day work weeks and the pouring rain or sub zero temps we’ve been having I haven’t even been near a tree! :( I did set the rope up in the basement the other night just to try out the different cordage though. I know it’s not the ideal testing set up since I wasn’t sitting in it, but it still gave me a little insight. :binoculars: Out of the pile the 10mm ocean and the icetail might be the two candidates. Still had some trouble with the knot locking back up after it was slacked and collapsed unless I gave it a bump. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but not a fan of that!

Wish I could help with dialing in the VT. I don't use the VT much. Maybe Scotty Overkill can give you some pointers.

I'm almost always using a knut hitch anymore. I'm using it like a split tail on assent because the slack can be tended with one hand without a pully. This is being used in conjunction with the zigzag prerigged so switch over once I reach the TIP is much faster.

If I'm using a hitch climber I usually just use a michoacan hitch with it. There are about a million hitches to choose from, but I liked its similarity to the blakes. I think educated climber has a video on how to tie one.
