I went and talked to the main guy, he made it clear all they cut is what lands directly on the road, nothing else. I get it.. my place is in an area loaded with woods and this happens all the time. I’m sure they have people wanting it all cut up for them, split and stacked. If I would have slipped them a few bucks, maybe they would have done it. On the the hand I’m pretty Fanatical about getting the lengths at least close to 16- 20” and i don’t think that’s how they operate. I’m just happy they took most of the whole top away.
Yes, it is better to buck it up yourself as then you'll have a lot of the same length logs; otherwise many different lengths.
