Looking good. I have enough dead ash on my property to keep me going for probably 5 years but after that I have mostly young trees. I’ve been thinking about when that time comes I’ll be getting log loads too. Actually planning on it and building my wood lot, woodsheds, and just general layout of processing with that in mind to make it easier when I do start buying woood.
So I got the log load split and stacked. I would call it a solid cord. There is a back row of wood that appears older than the pine up front. I’m pleased overall. The guy is supposed to drop off a similar sized log load of hardwood later this week. I specified no oak due to length of seasoning.
Smart move. As much as I love oak for burning, its the extended drying time that turns me off from it. I have a couple customers that like it so I'll take it to satisfy their needs. One gets just heartwood whether its red or white oak.
