Ok I have a 5x8 trailer but it has the little 4.8-12 tires & rims on it. 4 in 4 lug bolt pattern. I would like to put a 14 or 15 in rim and tire on it. So it don't sink down in the mud so bad. Does anyone know of a rim that will fit. I really don't want to change the hubs. Not worried about the finders they can't be moved thanks for the help.
Pretty sure, but not positive, that once you go to a 14" or 15" wheel it will be at least 5 lug. I do know that most golf cart wheels are 4 on 4 and as long as the offset isn't so much that the tire hits something during spring travel you could get a wider tire that won't sink into the mud as much. If this is an on the road trailer then make sure you get tires that are approved. NHS on the sidewall means not for highway service.
What about using those wide tires that they put on snowmobile trailers and the like? I'm pretty sure Bret is right about going up in size and them being 5 lug.
This wheel and tire are rated for highway use and is a 4 on 4 bolt pattern. I got an email from them this morning that said all orders over $99 were free shipping this week. http://www.buggiesunlimited.com/golf-cart/build-your-own-8inch-tire-and-wheel-combo/TWA8 Link didn't go right to the specific tire. Select the 9th option down from the top in the top option box for the tire. Second box choose whatever wheel has the right offset.
