Trailer Project

I only put two tires on the leading axle. I need two more. But I have been buying lots of stuff lately.

 

I am on my phone, are those car tires?

 

The tread looks like trailer tire tread on many of them

 

Guido I am sure there trailer. Thats the same pattern as the ones I bought and is pretty common on all off brand trailer tires you see.

 

They are 10 ply radial trailer tires rated for 5000 pounds per tire.

 

I was going to just replace two of them but they were in to bad of shape or me to feel safe. I figured they would eventually blow going down the road at the most inopportune time.......

 

I put 8 ply on my trailer. Got them for cheaper than the 6 ply I was initially going to get . Both tires I was looking at on amazon

 

I have had a lot of trailer tires fail on me in the past and its not fun. I don't mind a little bit more for some peace of mind.

 

I ended up getting a pretty good deal on these and they were marginally more money so I sprang for them.

99 hulco 16'

Previous owner used it to haul scrap with.
Man was it a wreck..
The remaining deck was sooo saturated with oil and..crap.
The rotten boards had been patched with sheets of steel. I removed the deck in sections.
Im betting that a 3x3' section weighed more then the entire deck did when it was new.

I replaced the deck, all the wiring, lit it up like a christmas tree, replaced the jack and coupler.
Also wire wheeled the entire thing, good god was that a pain, and then painted it with this
hefty farm implement paint from the local ag store.

A year later, i had wiring issues and was fed up. Put it on craigslist and sold it for $1200 about 8 hours later.

Fast forward another year... I just (I kid you not) got back home from driving 6 hours
round trip from picking up a brand new 16'. lol
