I told my 78 year old neighbor where they were. He has given me permission to walk on his land. Today I saw a white truck back there and heard a chainsaw running briefly. His son has a white truck and I am certain on my walk tomorrow the antlers will be gone.
Nice eh. Wonder how that other deer lost his head in the last pic? Kinda morbid but that's wildlife I guess?
This is the guy I'm after starting Jan 1. Can't wait for winter bow! I haven't seen him since 2017 and he showed back up last week.
I was thrilled once I looked through some old pics and realized it was him. It's been hard waiting for winter bow to open (jan 1). But I've been staying out of that piece of woods as much as possible and was still in there as of two days ago . Now I'm hoping he doesn't shed his rack before I see him. They're already starting to drop in some areas around here
I can't wait to get back in also! Didnt get any cams out so only know by what's we have seen since gun season ended! Our late archery started on the 26th. I have some days off coming up so hopefully get some time in the stand. Not liking the weather we have now for hunting. Been raining and it was 62° when I left for work this morning!
PA Dan yea the weather's been crazy here in the NE lately. Calling for 63° and thunderstorms today. Thankfully mid week temps will drop a bit but then back up for the weekend with rain.
Seriously, how does that happen? Barbed wire? Or? So he has to carry the extra head around til he sheds his antlers? When do they shed?
Two bucks got into a fight their antlers locked one died. The live one prolly fought and fought and fought and prolly fought some coyotes til the dead bucks head rotted off? Around here mature bucks shed their antlers from January till April
