Put camera back out and added some treats to the stump. Couple of decent fellers have been visiting. The one with the stickers is the one that I was wanting to shoot during gun season. Possibly this old fellow's last Winter? The Ladies were the first to visit after feed was dispensed.
I got some trail cam pictures from last week too. On the way to get a trailer load of fire wood. On the way home. A buck that made it thru the season. Al
I went back and frost seeded the clover/chicory this morning. A decent one was still holding and lotta birds.
It has reflective threads woven into it. During the day you dont see it unless your right on it, but at night a flashlight makes it glow like you wouldnt believe from 50-60yds. It came that way, and I never noticed any thing reacting to it. Its the safety rope, not the hoist rope.
PS - whats even cooler, that trailcam is IR... We cannot see the flash, not sure if the deer can. Its interesting to see it reflect on the rope like that, but if you were standing there and the cam went off you would never know.
OK these are not trail cam pics. But on my walk today, I came upon three crows eating a dead raccoon. As I was a little bit past them, a big arse bald eagle swooped in and a wrestle mania contest started. One crow got his guts opened up but he managed to fly away with his two healthy brothers. They knew the eagle was king. After my walk I went back with a camera and bumped the eagle off his meal but he didn't go far. He just sat there glaring at me madder n a wet hen while I shot him with a Canon. About 30 feet from me. No wonder the crows gave up so easy look at the eagle's fighting tools
I forgot to add as I was taking the eagle pics two red-tailed hawks sat in a tree about 100 yards from the eagle. They knew he was boss also but I'm wondering why two hawks wouldn't at least try to push the eagle off a good lunch?
Yea, if you never seen them up close We have some eagle talons/feet at the office. And before you say something I work for an agency with biologists who are certified and have the permits to have endangered species material (although now there no longer endangered, sill probably not allowed to poses their parts). Those things are huge and the claws are crazy!!
