Wow, you're considering turf or AG tires but not the Industrials which is the the middle of those two types.
I have Industrials, came with the tractor used, they are not the greatest on ice so I have chains for the rear and no problems on my driveway. My buddy down the street, has a 60 horse JD with ag and they destroy his lawn. Also a contractor.

GOOD used tires are hard to come by in our neck of the woods. AG tires will tear up yuor lawn more than R-4. Turf tires won't be good for much of anything.

I have a Mahindra 4010. Made by TYM. Other than running cold in the winter it has been good. We bought it used with low hours for a great deal. Will be upgrading to something a bit bigger someday.

Our local dealer is new to tractors and Doesn’t seem to know much. They are also not great at ordering things or having them in stock. Simple things like oil or hydraulic fluid. I have to order an oil and fuel filter and am dreading it. Last time it took over 2 weeks to get in. I am still waiting for the touchup paint I have ordered 3 times and not received. It’s becoming a tradition:)

If I had a decent dealer I would consider them again but as is I won’t be. Local Kubota dealer sales department is brutal as well but have a great service department. Not sure what brand I will go with but I will be traveling to find the right dealer. Not a big deal. I do all my own maintenance but need a dealer if something big goes wrong. Unfortunately the local Mahindra dealer is just a little too green for me to spend big dollars there.

Most compact tractors out there will get a lot of work done and be trouble free for a long time. Eventually you will need parts and service and I need to trust it will be there. They also all have horror stories. Check out Chuckie2009 on YouTube. He has a Mahindra and 7060 Kubota. Pretty disappointing stories on both.

As with saws you are buying the dealer.

    Late to the thread.

When I was shopping, spec for spec the JD was about 10-12% more expensive than Kubota...was sortof like getting a 'free' upgrade to hydrostat trans with the Kubota.

The JD mowers that I have owned have had Yanmar engines...no issues.

If you go Kubota, do investigate the Grand L series' features. Well worth the extra $$ in my experience.

I don't think you can go wrong with Kubota. I have a neighbor down the street with a mid size one, don't remember the model, probably around 30 or 35 horse, only issue in 15 years is some loader seals. I think he might have finally changed the battery. I bought a new sub-compact BX about 5 years ago, 26 horse, no issues. We are mowing 7 acres with it. It has industrials on it, I like them. I wish I had bought it with a loader, didn't think I would want it because I have a Ford 1320 with loader.

Well, tires are a tough choice. If you can’t decide between ag or turf, Industrial tires are a good compromise. Turf are great for your grass but have the least traction. Ag have the best traction but do more damage to your law. Maybe turf for summer and add chains for winter?

You can sell tires on C/L. I see that quite often.

Just verify chains can be added to that particular turf tire, some don't accept chains.

I'm quite satisfied with my industrials. AG's suck on pavement and will rototill a lawn. Turf tires are good for making planters and kid swings. Every brand has a lemon every now and then and you want a dealer who you feel confident will make it into lemonade. Let me just say worry about the money aspect second. If you pay to much for what you want the pain will leave once the payments end. If you compromise or something then the results will be with you a long long time.

I am also happy with my industrial tires, they tend to be wider in Front also .. Less sink in with wider footprint. Tractor stays in barn which is on lawn.. No major rut issues.

I’ve run my R4’s all over the lawn with no issues provided the ground is relatively dry.

You could ask the local dealer if they’d take pull offs on trade or purchase and add sell them yourself.
This is one of the major stumbling points on used machines- might have everything you want but the HST, tires, FEL/QA
3rd function on the FEL will run ~800 dealer install grapple runs 2-3k depending on size and heft.

As noted earlier in the thread everything under 30hp will be non DPF so no regen to deal with. Iirc the the standard was rolled in ~2016 so prior year models can be found advertised pre-emissions if that matters to you. On the same note people seem to think they still have a new tractor$ in that used range.

I use this log hitch Log Hitch almost the same as farmer steve 's. I've skidded 25-30" diameter 16' green oak logs with it, no problems. Great tool.
