A few years ago my FIL's dad decided to drive his lawn tractor back to his favorite mushroom hunting spot. To this day I have no idea how he got that thing back where he did, but he buried it to the frame in the back corner of corn field about 2000' from the road. We took the quad back there and the only way we could get it out was to pull it backward (deck kept digging in if we went forward) through a corn field with standing water. My FIL was on the tractor and I was pulling him with the quad shooting rooster tails of mud on him. He was not amused. Oh...and this all happened in the dark. Good times.

TOTALLY agree. Belts are maintenance items, not lifetime.
I've considered putting it up for sale.......trust me.
No. Haven't even called 'em yet.
I don't want to be ticked when I do it, as that usually just progresses into nothing.
Lots on my plate right now. I'll get 'roun to it.

Dave, fwiw, my 2 series cub cadet (think it was a 2248?) was shaft drive. No stupid drive belts to worry about, only a deck belt.

    Oh heck no.
Wife's dad went into the hospital. Turns out not too serious.
Long story short, we've been a little bizzy.

Any chance the belt was never replaced to begin with? :zip::mad:

I had it partially dis-assembled last time, so when I picked it up I could see the new belt.
    Good thought though.
