I stopped at Menards on the way home after work tonight and this $4.99 kid's Rake'O'Roon jumped in my cart... LOL It was aweful handy unloading the truck tonight too. (oh yeh, another load of EAB Ash went in the basement racks tonight) The wife thinks I'm a tight wad, I prefer frugal. She's OK with the big house she wanted that we heat for the price of some chainsaw and splitter gas, and she drives the finest 20 year old Audis available. LOL We are a good pair though cuz she was just showing me her new clothes she picked up at the thrift shop and was complaining cuz one of the cute tops she got was over $3.00, LOL... She's a keeper...
I love your little rake! I just bought one kinda like that (a Fiskars). I bought it for raking some spots that get all hung up if you use a wide rake. I got it at Target at a much better price than other places. And, yes, something like that does come in handy in a truck bed!
So it's not just me. My newest car is a 31 year old Honda (actually 3), but mama has an '06 Matrix and an '07 Prius. The Toyotas cause me much more grief (and cost me much more money) than the Hondas. She buys my clothes at the thrift shop. Hers, not so much. But then again, she works full time, pays her share and spends her own money. A keeper fer sure.
Side note on the picks room. Wear boots not hiking boots but Matterhorns or something heavy duty they will go to the bone very quickly!
I forgot to post that I grabbed this XA 22 last night when I took a trip to a local lumber hardware for 2x4s for the oak pallet stack I made. Looking forward to using when I need to reach in the truck. Could have made my own but I’ll try this out a bit. The log ox seems handy too. Noting I’m hauling more in log form or just heavy fresh cut. Wonder if the log ox would be beneficial in pallet lifting?
i made my own back in the Spring just for unloading truck. Never owned one. Id like to have a good one. Maybe if im good Stoveaclaus will leave one in my stocking!
Hard to pass up Fiskars with their lifetime guarantee. Same having never owned one myself but at least I can make sure it’s replaced if it breaks. My dad had a pitchfork with a fiberglass stem he used for probably 20 years if not more, it broke in half wrangling some roots. Took it back to some hardware store and they replaced it. I don’t know if the tool name is the same or company bought them out but ready for the next 20+. The advantages of such tools is shelling out a bit more to be a part of their own return plan and shows a lot about their services putting trust in their tools as they are aware of unfortunate failures but that helps them out by showing how their products fail and improvements from there.
I broke my X27 back in late Winter, posted a thread here, got the info, and Fiskars sent a new one in two weeks. I used the broken handle to make my own pickeroon. Ive been using the log blaster maul a lot lately and have heard a lot of positive feedback about their Isocore maul...Christmas is coming. My stepson usually gets me a firewood making tool. Last year it was a peavey/cant.
Timberdog Heck yeah! I am also a convert to this style of sharpening, and have picked up one for 3/8s and .325 chains. Eventually I'll likely get the small one for the 3/8 lo-pro on the Echo. These sharpeners work pretty well. I find myself very rarely using my trusty Granberg anymore.
Agreed! The timberline hasn’t left it’s case in some time. I have a regular file guide and see no need for it any longer. I do occasionally use my foley belsaw grinder when needed. But the large handles and two in one action is a huge game changer for me at least. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Chain hooks for the carryall. These are rafter hooks, intended for hanging stuff from exposed rafters. But I've repurposed them for hauling some chains. At $.69 each at Northern Tool, you can't go wrong. And they are not permanently screwed in. They also will hold my log tongs (hand ones) or skidding tongs.
