Sounds kind of sick? The rakers still not too far down? Or your really leaning on it. That woods not that big for a 441!

I took the rakers down by .100 on one chain recently. As long as I kept the RPM's up, it cut Pine Slab just fine, but got really grabby when I put too much pressure on it. I won't do that again, as that chain is now relegated to "Dirt/dirty cutting" status.
    My bad.

That's ALOT of raker removal ................ dropping rakers from .025 to .030 makes a big difference .............. and you went .100 ???? WOW !!

IMHO, if the chain is sharp, rakers need only be taken down enough to self feed ............. if the saw pulls the spikes into the bark so they get stuck, you took away too much. Also, cut finish is much rougher with deeper rakers, keeping them near .025 makes for a good smoothe cut, something to keep in mind when slabbing ....................and then there is the clutch. Put your hand on the clutch cover after making several cuts with deep rakers; if that cover is so hot that you cant keep your hand on it ........... rakers are too low.
