We had a break in the weather, and I took the chainsaw and the wagon out along the wood road where I had located a few dead but standing trees that I had decided were ready to come down. The bark had fallen off, but they had not gotten punky yet. Long story short, about ten wagon loads later I had brought them all back to the wood processing area. They were all perfectly dry and still very solid. I checked the internal moisture content and they were mostly below 10%. So I bucked them into 16" lengths and split them. Some are ready to burn immediately, and the others go onto the stacks for next winter, A pleasant day for me, and not a bad haul for about five hours work. Life is good.
Nice little haul. Some fresh air and firewood making does wonders for the spirit! I had a similar wagon years back. I overloaded it too much and it finally died. Very handy though.
Nice you were able to get out for a while , weather here has been so-so. My yard still has a lot of snow , starting to melt but will most likely be a little on the wet side for a while. I too have the same wagon in green. It is buried upstairs in my garage. I need to drag it out and put it to use. Been sitting up there for a few years , not doing me any good where it is now.
