Yep if it all goes in a spot to measure it. But I think it's going down my fence line so it will be easy. I stack about 4 to 5ft tall and however long it will go I guess?

The guy joked and asked if I wanted him to put a few sticks in the back of the truck:eek:, I said no I think I have enough!

I would say you have about 2 cord there, or about 9000 pounds; and here is how I devised my answer.

You have about 20 logs, about 12" in diameter on the small end and about 8 feet long. One or two are longer, but you also have some smaller diameter logs. Ultimately it scales to about 1000 board feet. A thousand board feet is about 2 cords of wood, and two cords of hardwood green is 4500 pounds to the cord, thus 9000 pounds overall.

Now with anything we must ask, does this make sense? Here again it makes sense from a different standpoint.

My bulldozer weighs 10,200 pounds and I know it is too much for a landscape trailer to move that typically are rated at 10,000 pounds. Like my bulldozer, it seems your load is about maxing out the truck and trailer, so that is my guess and why. (Just for fun, not trying to be a know it all, just explaining how I derived my guess).

You may be right; you gain a bit from splitting wood and that 4500 pounds per cord is based on mixed hardwood going to a paper mill (they pay us in pounds not cords). With the load being oak, it would weigh more too...so you might get that chicken dinner. Being a sheep farmer I love lamb anyway! :)

I like your answer, as a forester. Ha I don't put that much thought in it even though I am one though. We sell so little hardwood I don't even know much about it, other than normal stuff. And with even pine we talk in tons now a days. But I like it.

And that trailer is over max it's a 7000lb trailer:eek:o_O:bug:.
