I have an OWB and an indoor stove. For the OWB, I like to have unsplit rounds - they last much longer than split pieces., although they do take longer to dry being unsplit. If I have my choice, I'd rather have 10" round, unsplit pieces that are dry or at least close to dry over a split piece any day.

For the stove inside (encore), I think anything over 6" or so would better to be split.

It depends on what it is for me. If it is straight large diameter higher end wood, it turns into 8x8s and gets set aside for future Januarys and cold snaps. This strategy makes a lot of smaller stuff but to me the only thing that really matters is being ready for those 60 days or so when I need the punch within my 210 day burn. Everything else gets knocked down for quick drying and easy handling.
