I have 2 big cherry n a maple to drop n buck as soon as this heat wave is over (maybe end of week).... Cherries are about 27 DBH. Not poison ivy on trees....yay
The good thing is...there pretty straight....there's a lot of open area to drop them. Property owner is having family down so I'm waitng till next tuesday to start if weather permits. I gotta tell you fine people what the owner was telling me...... He lived in State College n before moving down here he owned a 20 acre farmett so to speak.....he had this huge pine tree very close to main road that he wanted taken down. So he got several estimates.....cheapest being 3500.00 bucks...he thought that was a lot of money for that n had to give it some thought. Several days after the last estimate....he had a guy stop by on a weekend...introduced himself....he was from the Rockefeller in New York City n they would like to have that tree for Christmas.... Its no wonder why the tax payers of New York gets pizzed....1.5 million they paid in total fees from start finish...but...they were under budget...they had 2.5 mil to play with!!! 35,000.00 for State College police to have someone there 24/7 for 3 weeks.....75,000.00 for a crane to come from Jersey...etc. This tree was probly 50 ft across at the bottom n they bundled it up just like a regular xmas tree n put it on a flat bed trailer. In return for the tree...they erected a wooden fence around his property...at a mere 40,000.00. He showed me pics of all this...AMAZING. I remembered they got this tree in State College...never figured that I would have met the owner of it...small world
Ok......there is one cherry that has poison ivy...the other one doesnt.....that's what you get when you assume...
Wow. Talk about an eye opener!!!! Good luck on the cooler weather. And it does not appear you are hurting for rain just yet as the grass looks nice and green.
